Working with Employment Lawyers

Do consult an employment lawyer as soon as possible, especially if you feel that the redundancy is not being dealt with fairly.

Collect any evidence to give to your employment lawyer, such as emails, letters, memo’s and minutes of meetings.  Also write down any conversations you have regarding the redundancy, with dates and details.

Do ask questions and take your own notes during redundancy meetings, as your employer may try to avoid discussing difficult issues.  If you believe that the reason your employer has given for the redundancy is not genuine, don’t be afraid to ask questions which relate to this.

If you are uncertain employment lawyers will be able to advise you.
